George School played their last game of the season in style; fighting hard for every ball throughout the game. Although the first half was difficult against a strong Baldwin team, GS came back stronger and faster in the second half and scored 9 goals. I was proud of the players for their ability to stay in the game and play as a team. This group of athletes has been led by an incredible group of upper-classmen. I want to especially recognize our graduating seniors, Ire Thompson, our magnificent goalie, and Tori Gallagher, our aggressive elbow defender. As captains (along with juniors, Rachel Delie and Laurel Hutchins), the two of them have been the backbone of this team and stayed with lacrosse throughout these crazy covid years! It has been a joy to coach them and watch them grow as players and as strong women. We will miss them next year, along with Louise Wolf, who will be leaving us at the end of this year to go home to Germany. I also just want to thank all my players for making this an exciting and awesome last season for me! What potential this group of athletes has. Best of luck in the future! You will always be near and dear to my heart!
Go, GS Lacrosse! Go, GS Cougars!
