Boys' Varsity Soccer Open FSL Season with 3-0 win over Abington Friends
After a scoreless first half that saw GS create many scoring chances, only to be thwarted by AFS's frosh goalkeeper Lukas Plourde, the Cougars broke through in the first minute of the second half when Tyler Flowers finished after a nice pass from Andrew Miller.  Three minutes later, Bryce Flowers found the back of the net after GS's Safi Baadarani-Feeney blasted a shot off the Abington post that rebounded to Bryce at the penalty spot.  Bryce calmly controlled the ball before taking the shot.  Five minutes later, Bryce was at it again.  This time he dribbled into the right side of the Abington penalty area before striking a powerful and accurate left-footed shot into the far upper corner of the Abington net.  Just like that, it was 3-0 George.  From there, the GS defense which had been strong throughout the game stopped all of AFS's offensive attempts.  Playing exceptionally well for GS were defenders Denys Sharpylo and Emilio Pellegrini along with midfielders CJ Jaikaria, & Bill Becker.

Next up for GS is a trip to Friends Central School on Thursday.
